I am a researcher and research consultant based in Los Angeles, CA. I am currently the Research Director for UCLA’s Center for Critical Internet Inquiry where I manage their research and programming portfolio and co-manage grant distribution via the Minderoo Impact Fund. I am the Director of the Lab Lab, an interdisciplinary research lab focused on the role of forensic science and technology in the criminal legal system and the founder of truwheel research and research consulting, a firm focused on research for creative projects.

Before joining the team at C2i2, I spent three-years at the University of Pittsburgh teaching and developing curriculum within the newly formed School of Computing and Information. Prior to my time at University of Pittsburgh, I earned my PhD in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at UCLA as well as my Masters in Library and Information Studies with a focus on Archival Studies.

I have worked in community and institutional archives, spent several years as an AmeriCorps member working with literacy focused nonprofits throughout Los Angeles, California and have an extensive background in live-event production and programming. I was the Music Director for 88.7 FM KSPC in Claremont, California for several years and produced six independent radio shows in my time there. I also DJ’ed around Los Angeles for many years and although I no longer do this professionally, I enjoy making playlists for friends. I am committed to an expansive understanding of research impact and am passionate about working across institutional and disciplinary boundaries. My published work can be found in Computational Culture, Preservation, Digital Technology & Culture and various edited collections. I have been a guest on several podcasts and local news broadcasts on a range of topics.
